Fractured Folk Songs 
includes a variety of folk songs for piano solo arranged by Valerie Roth Roubos. Each piece in the book is a familiar folk song with a twist to make it funny. For example, the tune of Hush, Little Baby is included in the book, but it’s titled Hush, Little Monster. The lyrics to the pieces are funny and will appeal to kids. One of my favorites in the book, Shoo Fly, includes rhythmic whacks with a fly swatter! The pieces in the book are leveled for the elementary/late elementary student. Pieces are written near middle C or C position. Some pieces include sharps and flats. If the idea of teaching altered folk songs doesn’t appeal to you, this would be a great book to use as sight reading with late elementary students.
