An essential part of music study is to become familiar with the musical alphabet. Being able to name steps or skips quickly in either direction is the foundation for theory. Students ultimately need to be able to spell scales and chords with ease. This week I made a set of musical alphabet worksheets to use on my iPad with students. (They are also available to download and print out.) I used the image of a worm for steps and the image of a rabbit for skips throughout the worksheets.

I use the annotation app Notability on my iPad to complete worksheets with students. Not only do students really enjoy being able to draw on the iPad, but it saves me from having to print out worksheets. I wrote a more detailed post about using the app here.
