Last week at the LMTA (Louisiana Music Teachers Association) convention, I led a forum about online resources for music teachers. I have served as the Independent Music Teachers Forum Chair for the last three years. Even though I am changing positions this year, I have really enjoyed sharing ideas with teachers.
My forum included different blogs and Facebook groups to go to for teaching or business related issues. Some teachers already knew about the various blogs and groups. I was excited to deliver the information to those teachers that have not turned to blogs as a resource yet. Some teachers also didn’t know about the different Facebook groups. I find the groups to be a huge resource. You can post your issue and get different opinions immediately.
I’ve included my handout from the convention just in case there is something new for you to learn.

I also had an exhibit booth at the convention to sell my theory workbooks. I am thrilled that they are helping students prepare for our state piano rally exams!
